Unless you live in a Karoo valley - dry heat, followed by rain, followed by humidity...

Hooray, it's very early morning and raining in Grahamstown.

Just hope it doesn't cause today to be hot and humid again - I am hoping the rain will continue for a few days!

The online weather report showed that we should expect rain and strong thunderstorms this entire weekend... well all we've "seen" so far is a few shots of lightning in the Swartberg Mountains and it was overcast yesterday with a lower temp which was pure bliss.

Woken up this morning to heat and clear blue skies... We're still wondering where this "heavy" rain is hiding! LOL

Well it's been hot and humid after the rain which didn't last long enough. But it isn't quite as hot as all the days last week were.

We've just had a massive downpour - and didn't notice that the downpipe of the gutter had shifted to over the chimney in the kaggel. Litres and litres of water have poured down the chimney, over the Rayburn stove, onto the floor...

And all the dog and cat food that I bought at the vet yesterday (I stock up for month so it's a lot of food...) has gotten soaked because I didn't decant it immediately into the containers like I should have...

Am absolutely bleak at the moment.

The wind has picked up considerably, the sky is a gloomy dark grey and thunder is rumbling... Our first genuine Karoo storm is on it's way!

Oh no Victoria, what a waste and what a pity.

Don't waste time bothering what you "should" have done - it's always Murphy's fault - shoot the bugger if you see him.

Why do today what you can put off till next year?

Ah well, the gin and tonic is perking me up. Murphy had better watch out after I've had a couple of these...

And as quickly as the storm appeared, it has disappeared! One hell of a downpour with strong thunder, and then it moved on towards the north of town... Garden got a good soaking (as well as my other stuff outside under the carport) and now the concrete pathways are already drying - sun is out again!

We have not had any rain humid weather today although a cool breeze is blowing at the moment.. So therefore I can now go and start my herb garden.
