    Default Feeling A Bit Warm?

Public warned as mercury boils | News24

These are the official temps, although a guy I was speaking to yesterday in Franschoek said the actual temperature there was 46%.
Looking forward to some cooler days so I can sleep again as it is literally impossible to do so in this weather

I hear you. Went walking the pooches at 6:30 this morning and we all nearly got heatstroke... Going to have to walk them in the middle of the night when I can't sleep...

Absolutely terrible.....I am in zombie mode right now.
Went down to the beach at about 11.30 pm last night and I am not even joking, it was packed. This weather is turning us all into insomniacs it seems.

I have, for the past week, finally managed to consume the daily recommended intake of water quite willingly!

Drinking alcohol in this heat would be madness, one glass and you'd be out. As Balls says though, I don't remember the last time I drank so much water, ginger ale is good too.

Something is radically wrong. My sister up in Kosi Bay is complaining because she feels like she is in the Cape ... wet, miserable weather. Hennie and I were wondering if we had somehow been transported up to KZN .

Hot, humid, nasty, nasty weather. I'm glad others are in Zombie mode ... not good being a lone Zombie.

Well now your your sister is wondering if she were in the Cape (wet, miserable weather......where, where, I really want some of that ) as we here in the Cape are wondering if we have been dropped smack in the middle of the Karoo.
Not a breath of air down here and driving along the highway earlier we passed almost a dozen cars parked on the side, heat obviously proving too much for them.

A tip I have received is to mist the flat sheet with some water which you cover yourself with for these humid nights. I am going to try it!

Funny, because I've always thought we're like ticks on a dogs back, and sometime good old mother earth is going to do herself the favour by scratching us off, lol.

Spent the day in George working through the list of errands and boy was it hot AND humid there - unbearable! Came back home and although it feels like you've left the oven door open, it is more bearable as it is the dry heat.

Last night was the worst so far though cos the clouds built up through the day so it trapped in the heat for the night - and it was overcast most of today as well. Tonight is not as hot as last night, but still much worse that we ever experienced in PE.

Our solution - plenty of liquids, close up the house like Fort Knox with the animals inside, and set all the fans to full blast along with the portable airconditioner. Reduce the 'size' of the house to the lounge and office, and park off on the floor with a fan blowing directly onto you and watch TV (what utter rubbish on!). Have a smoothie for supper and have a cold shower before collapsing onto the bed with the aircon blowing onto you.

Can't wait for proper aircon's to be installed... just need to get through the next 10 days before seeing what we can afford!

(but would still rather have this weather than PE's ever-changing weather anyday! We've both tossed out all long pants / jeans and replaced it with shorts and shirts. Apparently the average day temp during winter is around 26 so it is only the night's that you freeze your behinds off!)

This heat is just torture. I feel like I'm in the full throws of menopause. Really not cool (pun intended).

Have come to the conclusion that Hennie is trying to get rid of me. Sister, brother and meself planned to get together for Dad's 85 in Howick at the end of the month. OK, two days of KZN heat I can live through.

THEN my beloved plied me with 2 glasses of red wine and suggested that 2 weeks (IN FEBRUARY) with my sister in Kosi Bay would do me the world of good. Yeah right boytjie!

Anyway I am now off to hell for 2 weeks as from the 27th January.

On the positive side, I plan to loose 400kg from living in a permanent sauna, there is a lodge with swimming pool across the road, sister has aircon in the house, love sister to bits so the time together will be a treat.

But if you (and I'm referring to you V, and your interest in weird phenomena) hear about a pink whale sighting in a pool just outside Kosi Bay, don't get excited ... it's just me.
