Default Wikipedia to go offline for 24 hours - why? Because of the US government

Here is the link: English Wikipedia anti-SOPA blackout - Wikimedia Foundation

We have all used Wikipedia at one time or another. At least Wikipedia are taking on the growing lobbyist driven US government autocracy

Here is a quote from the link above:

It is the opinion of the English Wikipedia community that both of these bills, if passed, would be devastating to the free and open web.
Over the course of the past 72 hours, over 1800 Wikipedians have joined together to discuss proposed actions that the community might wish to take against SOPA and PIPA. This is by far the largest level of participation in a community discussion ever seen on Wikipedia, which illustrates the level of concern that Wikipedians feel about this proposed legislation. The overwhelming majority of participants support community action to encourage greater public action in response to these two bills. Of the proposals considered by Wikipedians, those that would result in a “blackout” of the English Wikipedia, in concert with similar blackouts on other websites opposed to SOPA and PIPA, received the strongest support. On careful review of this discussion, the closing administrators note the broad-based support for action from Wikipedians around the world, not just from within the United States. The primary objection to a global blackout came from those who preferred that the blackout be limited to readers from the United States, with the rest of the world seeing a simple banner notice instead. We also noted that roughly 55% of those supporting a blackout preferred that it be a global one, with many pointing to concerns about similar legislation in other nations.

Remember this Bill has been Chaired by a Rothschild family member of Congress who has made his intentions clear about rebels who do not follow the mainstream media line.

Good grief - this will surely cause an outcry. Justifiably...

Many governments and politicians have things they would like to hide but the internet seems to seek them out eventually, despite all the legislation which might be invoked!

And a law is only as good as a country's ability to police it!

Fingers crossed we can remove 'Robbing' Hood and his band of Merry 'Thieves' come next election and send all the Chicago 'Thugs' back to the 'underbelly' of the 'Windy City'. Same goes for the Far Left-Leaning Liberal 'Loonies' in Congress. This is NOT the same Country as it was three years ago. We are slowly being stripped of everything we hold dear: Life, Liberty and the 'Pursuit' of happiness (not guaranteed, but we have a 'right' to 'go for it').

SOPA and PIPA are nothing less than the back door to censorship!

I love my Country, but more than a few of the Politicians, from the White House to the outhouse, as they say here, "ain't worth a spit in a thunderstorm".

The US Congress have now shelved the Internet Censorship Bill lobbied by Hollywood and Murdoch's News Limited.

We can be very thankful for the great work of Wikileaks in causing such a strong reaction - three of the four proponents walked away from it after this happened.

    'Shelved'....for now.

Congress Puts Anti-piracy Bill On Backburner Amid Uproar | Fox News

Unfortunately, Obama, pressured by the Far Left Leaning Liberal Loonies, in Congress and out, will find a way to 'sneak it through the back door'. This Administration is as 'crooked as a dog's hind leg' and is darn good at 'burying' stuff that wouldn't 'stand in the light of day' within thousands and thousands of pages of proposed 'Bills' and 'Regulations'.

I hope to all that is good and moral that Obama's 'snow job' will not work this next election. I will be the first in line to help him pack.
