Tricia,
You'd be begging me to take her back in short order. This is my 'crazy kitten' who wants to play 'fetch' between midnight and 0400hrs, terrorizes and beats the 'pudding' out of Inu (2-year-old 'altered' male), running him out of the house, shreds toidy paper, jumps on the stove to 'try' to get to the food I am cooking, is especially fond of sponges (preferably wet) and straws, 'eats' bills and letters on my desk, tries to 'rip' Thumper's doggie treats right out of her mouth and 'helps' with every click of a key or movement of the mouse when I have the laptop up and running.
But, she is precious and 'fits like a glove' in this 'slightly off' household and we love her to pieces.

I love Miss Fitt's name! She's obviously a member of MENSA?!

Miss Fitt must be related to Tinkle. Poor Smudge loves her sleep and is a real lazybum. Tinkle on the other hand is always investigating, moving things about, throwing things about, causing general mayhem.
Here are my two little "helpers" taking a break and checking out the weather report.

Have a big bookkeeping job coming in tomorrow. Can see it is going to take 3 times as long as usual.
Would it be ethical to bill the client the full amount of hours?
Looks like Smudge!!

Have a super day, all! Have to get the 'path' cleared from the sliding glass doors, down two steps and across the patio five steps to the storm shelter and get it 'spring/summer' ready (bottled water, energy bars, blankets, pillows, first-aid kit, etc. and a big thermos of coffee. We have a 'doozie' coming in late today w/damaging winds up to 70-miles an hour, quarter-size hail and tornado warning(s). From the forecast, it looks like we are 'smack dab' in the middle of the 'red'. It will be a l-o-n-g night.
On another note, will be posting a 'find it - get it' later this week. First person to find the auction will get the auction item.

Whew - good luck, Ruthie - hope the storm decides to change its path...

You really have "weather" up in your part of the world Ruthie! What are your summers like?
Books & Tricia...thanks. Will keep the head low.
Mellow...
The weather can be a tad 'hairy' at times. This winter, so far, quite warm; not many days below freezing and no snow. This week is to be high 50's - low 60's; unusual for this time of year.
Spring, early Summer and Fall are the 'worry-weather' times of the year; with Fall being less so than Spring and early Summer. Hot and horribly humid late Spring, Summer and Fall...kinda like trying to breathe under water. Those without air conditioning wake up 'wet', spend the day 'wet', get into the shower or bath 'wet' and go to bed 'wet'. Not unusual for perhaps a dozen people to die from heat stroke...those who 'think' they can mow their yards in 95-degree weather with the heat index upwards of 120-degrees.
In town, as with most urban areas, the heat is worse. Out here in the 'boonies', it is a tad cooler and early mornings and after the sun goes down, we usually have a breeze. Nice sitting on the front porch with the overhead fans on and citrine candles burning to keep the 'skeeters' away. No street lights and no neighbors to speak of (can't see them for the trees, miles of timber and 'dark'), so when it is 'night-thirty', you can't see your hand in front of your face...which is a good thing if you want to sit outside wearing a scant piece of cloth (or not) and a smile.
So, this is 'home'...

(about halfway up from the road - back view from the timberline - from edge of drive up to patio/back door)
And this is our 'hidey-hole' when the alarm radio shrills and the sirens blare...

Steel, not concrete, like the below ground type, and bolted to concrete so no wind can get 'under' and raise it and carry my son and me off to meet Dorothy and Toto somewhere on the way to Oz; suppose to withstand an F-5 tornado (worst there is), but with a 'direct hit'....guess there aren't any guarantees.

1800hrs....and it's 'fun and games' time; 'watch' just came out; 'warning' (take cover now!) should sound in a couple of hours.

Unless 'extended' (which is more common than not), should have 'blown through' by 0500hrs Monday morning. Updated: damaging winds up to 80-mph, hail up to 2" and possible 'destructive' tornado(s). Added: straight-line lightning.
Don't need a crystal ball to tell me where I will be 'hiding out' tonight / tomorrow morning.
