I AM REVOLTING, ANYONE WANT TO JOIN ME?
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TORCHES AND FIRESTARTERS.
I realized that I am getting "crispy". Made my bed this morning and was busy to put the sheet down neatly and then I heard a loud "crack". Needless to say, I could not make the bed, could not bend over at all, could not get my shoes out of the closet and even worse - I cannot sit properly after the huge "cracking" noise. It is very painful - I AM GETTING OLD NOW!

"Cracklings"

moppies...
I don't even need to add milk to hear 'snap, crackle, pop'.
Shoot-a-bug, there are times when I 'think' about carrying a can of WD40 in my pocket; a squirt or two to lube the joints.
Ahhh, the 'joys' of 'maturing'.
(hope you get the 'kinks' out and feel better soon)
Ruthie
Ruthie you must never add milk to hear "snap, crackle and pop".
You need to add whisky and then you'll hear "hick, gurgle and burp".
And welcome to "The Crispy Club"!!![]()

Shame, Moppies - vertebral problems should not be taken lightly, so be sure to obey his orders!
Hope you feel better soon-soon.

I have posted this before, but to all of you that are getting "old", find some comfort in this message:
As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world, too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is it, if I choose to read, or play, on the computer, until 4 AM, or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love, I will. I will walk the beach, in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves, with abandon, if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old. I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And, I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years, my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break, when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet or your own gets hit by a car? But, broken hearts are what give us strength, and understanding, and compassion. A heart never broken, is pristine, and sterile, and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning grey, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver, even my wife!
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong. So, to answer any questions, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).
I saw the following on FB this morning:
"I am getting old. When I got up out of bed this morning I experienced sharp pains in my chest, then I looked down and saw that I was standing on my nipples!"

moppies...
Please take care and do what the Doctor advises. Grab a book or needlework and allow others to do the 'what needs to be done'. (This from a person who re-folds laundry, re-arranges dishes in the dishwasher, will re-wash a load of clothes, etc.)

Yeppers. Methinks we come to the point in our lives where we finally become 'comfortable in our own skin'.

Moppies, MrA and I hope your back will be back to normal soon!
You are too young to have aches and pains, lass.
