  • Falsely identified gems

Once again we seem to be beating down the same garden path of misrepresented gems.

Anyone care for a green & yellow citrine? (actual gem is a hydrothermal quartz)

And how about a blue & yellow citrine / ametrine? (also a hydrothermal quartz)

Beautiful pieces, but most certainly not what they are claimed to be. I have nothing against the seller either, but assume that his supplier could have either misled him / her or simply supplied the incorrect information.

The one also states the gem is unheated. It is most certainly heated and either irradiated or coated.

Have you invited the seller to this forum thread?

      Thanks
