  • Cape of Good Hope half Penny Stamps info wanted

I have a few Cape of Good Hope half Penny Stamps posted on 14 May 1909.

They are still on a picture postcard and I was wondering if anyone has any information on them.

    postal history

You are probably referring to the 1/2d green cape of good hope stamp (the standard post at that time). Most picture postcard are collected as postal history items. Either the postcard depicting a specific theme, the date, the town it was cancelled at, the adressee and the addressor. eg. Union Castle Liner postcards postally used have quite a good following and are collected by the more specialised collector. Sometimes the picture postcard from that period only has sentimental value and of very little monetary value.

Now if you said it has the Cape of good Hope triangle on the postcard the conversation suddenly HEATS up if the condition is good and it has all three good margins. Hope this helps a little.
