  • FDC Quantities

    Hi All

I noticed that in 1983 Lutz stopped listing the quantities of FDC's that were produced. Does anyone know the reason for this?

    Hello Gabriel1

    Pure speculation from my side…

Perhaps the catalogue editor felt that the numbers produced were to high! Publishing these figures might have had a negative impact on the retail value of the relevant FDC’s?

      Hi All

Looking at the SACC valuations of later FDC's compared with the prices of a set of used stamps there seems to be little difference

This actually brings something else to mind

Maybe excuse my ignorence (I have only revived my interest in stamp collecting ofter a long dormant sabatical)

I was always under the impression used stamps had to be postally used

These days you get cancelled to order, unaddressed maxi cards, unaddressed FDC's.

All of which has never seen a postmans bag

      What has changed??

Regards to all and happy festive season

I am sitting with a couple of Bophuthatswana sets – COMMERCIALLY USED. These sets are RARE. I will never put them on BidorBuy, knowing that I will not get more than a third of the Cancelled-to-Order catalogue Value.

Once again, it is the market that dictates…
