    Hi Gabriel1

From the pic it looks like the camps name ends on "berg"

The only concentration camp that ends on "berg" and not "burg" is Klipriviersberg.

    Hope this helps

      Hi

Thanks, but I believe this is an Indian postmark and would probably have been to one of the camps used in India during the Boer War, it would be nice to know which one.

        Hi

I am not really into stamps, but South African History & Genealogy is one of my hobbies.

Here is a list of the camps that were in India.

Maybe you can figure something out from these names.

        Abottabad
        Ahmednagar
        Bellary
        Bhim Tal
        Dagshai and Solon
        Fort Govindgarh
        Kaity-Nilgiris
        Satara
        Shahjahanpur
        Sialkot
        Trichinopoly
        Umballa
        Upper Topa

          Thanks

Maybe Bhim Tal or Umballa, this is what us collectors go through, it could take months before I get any clarity.

            Hi Gabriel1

Maybe I am wrong, but on closer inspection of your picture it seems that the bottom of the postmark does not depict a name, but is almost a mirror image of the black markings in the middle of the postmark at the top, under the words "boer camp". Looks like a triangle, 5 x rectangles and then another triangle. These markings at the top and bottom are in the inner circle of the postmark. Hope I am making sense here.

              Hi bube02

Thanks for your help, I am not convinced but I think the puzzle will be solved at some time or other. I gave the stamp to David Crocker over the week-end, he has been a member of the Boer War Philatelic Society for, I think he said 41 years. Bottom line is he could not help. I have never spent so much time on one stamp before but I refuse to give up.
