  • Scarce item?

    Hi All,

Firstly, please excuse my total ignorance as I am mostly collecting coins.
I recently bought a large coin and stamp collection and found the following four items in an envelope:

    http://images.bidorbuy.co.za/user_im...0c_stamp_a.jpg

    http://images.bidorbuy.co.za/user_im...0c_stamp_b.jpg

    http://images.bidorbuy.co.za/user_im...0c_stamp_c.jpg

    http://images.bidorbuy.co.za/user_im...0c_stamp_d.jpg

I cannot find any reference to these items in the SACC.

Is there anybody that can advice me what these stamps are and what an aprox value of these items are?

    Thank you!
    Gert

    Hello

Interesting! But we need more information.

This is definitely a Redrawn 10c (issued from 1964 onwards).

    However, more info is needed.

Is the colour as per the scan? Is it imperforated as per the scan? Is the paper gummed? What kind of Watermark is on the stamps? Is it on “normal” stamp paper or on a heavier cardboard / photo type paper?

It could be Printer’s Waste – by no means a derogatory term.

The issued stamp was in shades of Sepia / Brown and Green. The Blue discards the possibility of a Progressive Proof.

There are some real RSA experts around, but I think that even they will need more info first.

    Waiting for your next post.

    Regards

    Jacques

      Hi Jacques,

Thanks for your quick response! :D

      To answer your Qs:
The colour is slightly brighter than the scans but only different shades of blue (i.e. no other colours, only blue)

Yes, its imperforrated - but it seems some stamps has been cut from the corners

I think the paper is gummed (it looks like), but I don't want to make it wet to see (again excuse my ignorance)

How do I see the Watermark?

The paper apear to me as "normal" stamp paper .

      Regards
      Gert

        Hello

        Please excuse my long silence.

I have spoken to a number of RSA 1st Definitive Experts.

This items is either a very rare item or a forgery.

I think that it warrants further investigation by you.

        I am stumped…

        Regards
