  • Not all varieties are rare!

    Hello all!

Let us test the knowledge of our modern SWA / Namibia collectors.

Have a close look at the two stamps in the attached scan. They are both fairly common. Yes, they are definitely different to each other.

What is the difference? And why are they different?

    Regards

    Jacques

The one with the WWF logo is SACC #37 and the one without is #37a, which is part of a miniature sheet.
        Obligatory link to my listings.

          Hello RISadler

That is correct. There was a Johannesburg dealer who used to sell this “variety” at 50 German Marks in Germany, stating origin unknown!

Apparently (I might be wrong here) Foundation was not prepared to pay the WWF royalties. Thus this fundraising issue appeared without the logo.

          Regards
