According to the article , these are illegal in SA - therefore selling them on BOB would contravene the terms and conditions of this site !
Why people feel it necessary to use cruelty to train their dogs is beyond me !
consistency is the last resort of the unimaginative.

Have sent the seller the question...

"Don't you think this is inhumane?" and included a link to the News24 clip...

These items in the hands of untrained people will cause havock for a dog not to mention the very small breeds, it is a no-no in my book and as a Behaviourist we don't use such methods on any animal as it is considered inumane!

There was a movie with Jim Carey called "Fun with D|CK and Jane" the shock collar made an appearance in it and it was eventually used on humans, quite funny to see some dude get zapped, sad to see it used on a dog.

People who think they can make money by causing pain to a dog won't even bother to answer your question, MsPlod. Fortunately - thanks to Cuan, I think - the item is no longer on BoB.

Horrible things ... what will they invent next?

There are a few humans with verbal diarrhoea that I'd like to collar though.

With an absolute lack of facial expressions, being verbal is the only way The Beak can communicate! (Unless he is nipping - and I don't mean with sundowners!!)

Some of us abhor cruelty to animals and cruelty comes in so many guises that one has to be alert! There are so many responsibilities - financial and emotional - involved in owning a pet which people do not always realise. They see a pretty kitten or puppy in a pet shop or advertised on the internet and make a spontaneous or unthought-out purchase. Later on, when they realise the amount of work they will have to put in to have a properly socialised cat or dog in their home, they give up and the poor animals end up in the backs of beyond where people have neither the time, money or know-how to look after them. Very sad.

But there are no old, bold pilots.
