Is this seller an authorised dropshipper? I can't find the list of approved ones.

He clearly states in his listing that the item is ordered from overseas so I guess that is why he's charging R300.00 for shipping?

Has anyone queried this with CW?

Lily I have not queried it because I don't know too much about shipping cost besides what you guys pick up. I just so happened to come across it whilst looking for earphones.

Did anyone noticed that the Speedservices bags went up in price. I paid R65 each today. Or was I robbed?

I think the CPA act will curb many sellers exploiting shipping charges. The CPA act has a few unfair clauses but it seems a good thing overall.

    Hi Miems,

Don't buy too many now, Christmas Special on Speed Bags starts in the next week or so. My postmaster just told me over the weekend.

I was looking for some (cheap) SARB 2011 coins today and came across these shipping costs!!!!

    Q:
    Question on postage: If I buy 11 coins postage will be R30 + (R12 x 10) = R 150? Therefore for 200 coins R2418? That correct??? - Asked by amadav (1442 )

    A:
    If you buy 200 coins at R1 each = R200.00 plus R12.00 per coin for 199 coins = R2388.00 plus R30.00 shipping. Total = R2618.00.
    Thank You.

    Default Bob Success fees

Does BoB actually manage to make any money from the sellers who charge excessive shipping fees and how long can BoB ignore this issue - it makes no business sense to me. These sellers don't actually make their profits from the sale of the item, but from the shipping fees. BoB always says if you not happy to bid on an auction because of the shipping fees, dont bid - but is that actually addressing the issue?

If seller sells his item for R1, but has shipping fees of R150/R250/R350, take your pick.. what does BoB score? A miniscule % fee on the R1? Am I correct, or whats the deal?

bob does not ignore these issues, we do take action on seller's charging excessive shipping. We also do not derive any income from shipping charges and don't "score" anything by allowing this, yet we reserve the right to charge the seller a penalty fee for excessive shipping. We will and always have stated the following - if you suspect high shipping charges please feel free to report it to us, we will investigate and if need be take the appropriate action. Please do not bid on items if you don't agree with the charges as many buyers do and then only complain after they have bought the item, this can be eliminated by simply reporting it to us first. Unfortunately we cannot monitor every single shipping option as this varies from seller to seller, from method to method and costs. The only way this can be address is if members of the community report this to us.

This is being investigated, bearing in mind there is no explanation as to how this is shipped on the listing, if it's a courier charge it could well be R150.
