Can anyone help please? I posted a large parcel from Napier on the 4th. It reached GERIn TransitTon (HUB) on the 8th and is still there.

It is on it's way to Boksburg North.

I'm worried, as being a big box, it may look very attractive to a postal pincher. Can anyone tell me what or where GERIn TransitTon (HUB) is? And any good reason why it would be there for 3 days?

That's the Germiston sorting hub. It will probably be sent from there to Boksburg North. The post office website seems to insert, "In transit" over the "min" of "Germiston". Give customer services a call on 08600 111 502 to see if the parcel has not reach Boksburg North yet.

    Ah thanks a million SaA.

I really am worried now, can't see that it takes 3 days from Germiston to Boksburg. Will phone them at 8am.

    Hi again SaA

After 1/2 an hour and many phone calls we eventually tracked the parcel. It is safely at the right PO. Learned a few interesting things about the tracking system in the process so it was not a complete waste of time.

Thanks for your info, it did help.

    Hi mellowred,
Glad I could assist and that the parcel was found. When I saw that it was last scanned, 3 days ago, at the Germiston hub I suspected that it may already be at Boksburg North. They seem to be very lax with scanning parcels in at that branch... naughty, naughty postal workers

The confusion came in when Germiston updated that the parcel was sent to Boksburg East. I had a bad feeling about the parcel as it was a nice big box and could be tempting, so when I heard that, I immediately thought "Theft".

Pleasant surprise was how friendly and helpful the SAPO people I spoke to were.
