Talking Post office starts to work if you kick up a storm

After myself and my buyer called etc the head manager of some sort called around and found out another guy had almost picked it up (I think they put the receipt in his po box) but luckily he was honest and after signing for it, noticed it wasnt addressed to him and left it there. The person working there still recorded it as collected and so far they havn't found it yet but are confident its at that branch somewhere. It makes you wonder if its a inside job but as long as they find it I'm happy. Jackie was very helpful and for a change I'm impressed with someone at the post office.:D

Just this monday i was at (not my usual) post office. I went with tracking slip, got a heavier parcel than i expected, and then checked the name, and it wasn't addressed to me. Guy double checked and he'd gotten 1 digit wrong on the store-localized tracking number.

Had an issue on Friday where the buyer informed me her parcel had not arrived yet. Posted 21 Jan 2010 already. Shows online that someone collected it on 5 Feb 2010. I relayed this to the buyer, and she told me that because she is with Postnet, they send out people to collect the parcels, and then the person who the parcel was addressed to collects it at Postnet. She will now take it up with Postnet. It sounds strange, because the postoffice cannot legally give the parcel to anyone else. Or am I missing something? I have no idea how Postnet works... Any ideas?

It could be that the parcel is on its way back and the name of the person who collected it is from postnet.
I vaguely remember something like this happening to one of my parcels.

I sometimes get my registed items in the post box.this made me angry till i went to post office manager, told him that they must stop doing this thing coz they might use the wrong box by mistake as they sometimes do... The manager told me he will fix that but still they are still doing it. Mabe they what happened is what i was explaning.

Well I have a problem with SAPO: The South African Post Office as it seems to be permanently "out-of-order". Am trying to check up on a small, light parcel which I sent to Germany by airmail on 29.03.2010 - no luck and the addressee still hasn't received the parcel a few days short of a month later. I paid top rates for postage so I am hopping mad with the Post Office system!

Postnet is not so Bad. I rely on postnet rather than SAPO
