Exclamation Inner cv joint for proton arena 1.5 - please help

    Hi,

I am hoping that one of the forumers will be able to assist me in finding an inner cv joint for a 2006 Proton Arena bakkie 1.5. I have been phoning from here to eternity with no luck.

This bakkie is a source of income for friends of mine and they are suffering financially due to the unavailability of this part.

    PLEASE!!! If someone can assist.

    Kind regards

    Ronel

    Hi Ronel

    Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately you can only get Proton spares from a Proton dealership. I have the 1.5 bakkie as well, so am speaking from experience.

Here is the link to all their dealerships countrywide.

    Find a dealer | ProtonCarsSA

    Good luck.

Thank you so much for your reply.

However, I have tried that route and Proton tells us that we need to buy the entire thing-a-ma-gadget and not only the inner cv joint, and this would cost R5,400.00!

I was hoping that somebody knew of a damaged Proton bakkie that might be available for spares.

    Kind regards

    Hi there,

You will only be able to get the inner CV joint from the agents unfortunately

Ronel I believe that bakkie is called a jumbuck here in the uk. I did a quick search and found some cv joints, they seem to start at about £19 so that about R230, thats for the outside ones, I can ask them if they do inner ones if you like. I dont know if I am allowed to give you the link on here. I dont think delivery would be all that much and I think they might take off the vat but not sure, vat is 20%. Ok let me know if I can help
